Who we are

Van Life Campsites UK (vanlifecampsites.co.uk) is a directory of van-friendly campsites, aires, wild spots, and farm stays across the United Kingdom. We are not a campsite operator.

Operators can opt in to a managed introduction service. When that service is active, we may process the minimum contact and stay details needed to check availability, administer the introduction and record commission. An availability request is not a confirmed booking.

What data we collect

When you submit a listing, we collect: your name, email address, business/site details, and payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details). When you make an availability request, we collect your contact details, stay dates, party size, vehicle information and any optional message. When you browse the site, we may collect anonymised analytics data (page views, device type).

How we use your data

Listing owner data is used to create and manage your listing, process payment, and communicate with you about your listing. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

With your consent, availability-request details are shared with the selected operator so it can reply. If an operator has not opted in and verified its email, we hold the request for manual review instead of automatically disclosing your personal data. A request is not a confirmed booking.

We count aggregate activity on individual campsite listings so verified operators can see whether Van Life Campsites is producing attention and camper actions. These listing totals do not store a visitor name, email address, stay details, form contents or a persistent visitor identifier, and operators cannot see individual visitor identities. View and click reporting began on 20 September 2026; completed availability-request totals may include earlier submissions.

Stripe payments

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not receive or store payment card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to all payment transactions.

Cookies

We may use essential cookies for site functionality. Analytics cookies (if used) are anonymised and do not track individuals.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@vanlifecampsites.co.uk.

Data retention

Listing data is retained for the duration of the listing plus 12 months. Availability enquiries are retained only as long as needed to route and administer the request, measure outcomes and resolve disputes. Payment records are retained as required by HMRC for 6 years.
