Van Life Campsites in Derbyshire
Derbyshire contains the Peak District National Park β the UK's first national park and arguably the most popular in England. For van lifers, this means extraordinary landscape in every direction but significant pressure on popular spots in summer.
The Hope Valley between Castleton and Hathersage is the heart of the Dark Peak, with gritstone edges, limestone dales, and some of the finest farm camping in the country. Farm sites near Castleton, Edale, and Great Hucklow tend to offer electric hook-ups and good facilities at reasonable prices. Book ahead for summer weekends.
The White Peak to the south is limestone country β gentler, more pastoral, with the Dovedale gorge and Monsal Trail running through it. Farm sites here are quieter than Hope Valley equivalents and make an excellent base for cycling the Monsal Trail. Matlock Bath and Bakewell are reliable supply stops for provisions.
