Van Life Campsites in Staffordshire

Be the first to list a site here

Staffordshire is overlooked by most van lifers heading to the Peak District, which means the county's best spots are often half-empty when Derbyshire is packed. The Staffordshire Moorlands in the north-east are part of the Peak District National Park, and farm sites around Leek and Longnor rival anything in the more famous Derbyshire dales.

The Churnet Valley in the south-east is a hidden gem — a wooded limestone valley with steam railway heritage, good walking, and several farm sites charging very reasonable rates. The valley is accessible to larger vans via the A52 and makes an excellent base for exploring both Staffordshire and the southern Peak.

Cannock Chase AONB is England's smallest AONB and sits at the county's heart — ancient heathland with red deer, mountain bike trails, and a surprising sense of open space given its location between the West Midlands conurbations. Limited formal camping but several private sites welcome vans.

Van Life Tips for Staffordshire

Staffordshire Moorlands roads can ice over quickly in winter — farm sites typically close November to March. The Peak District fringe around Longnor and Flash is significantly quieter than Buxton and Castleton.
