Van Life Campsites in Kent

Be the first to list a site here

Kent is the most underrated county in the South East for van life. The North Downs chalk ridge runs east–west across the county with farm sites that look north over the Weald or south towards the coast. The White Cliffs between Dover and Deal are iconic, and a handful of farm sites near St Margaret's Bay put you within sight of France on a clear day.

Dungeness β€” a unique shingle spit at the county's far south-east corner β€” is one of England's most unusual landscapes: a nuclear power station beside a nature reserve, with Derek Jarman's famous garden and a scattering of eccentric beach huts. The area has few formal sites but is one of the most memorable van life destinations in southern England.

The Kent coast between Ramsgate and Whitstable has several small motorhome aires and a growing number of farm sites behind the beach. Good pub culture, excellent seafood, and proximity to the Channel crossings make Kent a frequent first or last stop for van lifers heading to Europe.

Van Life Tips for Kent

Dungeness is accessible on reasonable tracks but soft shingle off the main road will bog a van. Stick to the sealed roads. The White Cliffs coastal paths are beautiful at dawn β€” farm sites nearby allow early access.
