Van Life Campsites in Oxfordshire
Oxfordshire sits at the meeting point of three distinct landscapes: the Chiltern Hills to the east, the Thames Valley running through the middle, and the Cotswold escarpment to the west. All three have good options for van camping.
The Chilterns AONB is particularly good for van lifers — ancient beech woodland, chalky hilltops, and farm sites that are often cheaper and quieter than equivalent spots further south. The Ridgeway National Trail enters the county from Wiltshire and runs along the chalk escarpment above the Vale of White Horse — a magnificent setting with several farm sites nearby.
The Thames between Oxford and Henley is popular for van camping with access to the river for kayaking or paddleboarding. Blenheim Palace, the Cotswold Wildlife Park, and the market towns of Burford and Woodstock make Oxfordshire an easy county to fill a long weekend in a van.

Oxford city itself offers very limited overnight parking for vans. Use farm sites to the north or west and make day trips into the city by bus. Cotswold Edge sites book up in summer.
