Van Life Campsites in Wiltshire

Be the first to list a site here

Wiltshire's appeal for van lifers is centred on the chalk downlands and their remarkable prehistoric landscape. Stonehenge sits at the heart of a World Heritage Site with a concentration of ancient monuments unmatched anywhere in Europe — and a handful of farm sites nearby offer vans a proper base to explore at dawn or dusk when the coach parties have gone.

The North Wessex Downs AONB covers the Marlborough Downs and the Vale of Pewsey, with good opportunities for quiet farm camping. The Ridgeway National Trail runs along the northern scarp, and farm sites near Avebury put you on one of the finest ancient monuments in Britain with almost none of the Stonehenge crowds.

Salisbury Plain is largely MOD land but the edges are accessible, and the city of Salisbury itself is a useful service stop. The county lacks a dramatic coastline but compensates with unique landscape, dark skies, and some of the most welcoming farm camping in the South.
