Somerset is an underrated van life county. Exmoor's southern slopes offer farm sites with views across the moor and easy access to the coast at Porlock and Minehead. The Quantock Hills — England's first AONB — are quieter than Exmoor and have several landowners who welcome vans overnight.
The Somerset Levels are unique: flat, wild, and atmospheric, especially in winter when flooding creates temporary lakes between the ancient drove roads. Glastonbury Tor is visible for miles in all directions. Farm sites around Street and Wells tend to be very affordable and informal.
For coastal van life, the Somerset coast between Weston-super-Mare and Minehead is less developed than Cornwall but genuinely beautiful — particularly the stretch around Blue Anchor Bay and Watchet, where the Quantocks meet the sea.
